Senators At War: Buhari To Be Impeached, Melaye Threatens To Beat Up Tinubu’s Wife

President Muhammadu Buhari has been threatened with impeachment by Nigerian senators, Sahara Reporters has informed.

This much happened during the plenary session on Tuesday, July 12, with the senators making their threats about the president known over the Senate forgery allegations scandal.

It was also gathered that Senator Dino Melaye threatened to ‘impregnate’ Remi Tinubu, wife of the Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Their anger stems from the proposed trial of the Senate leadership over forgery, a case for which Senate president, Bukola Saraki; his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, and other officers were recently charged to court.

Some senators were said to have called on their colleagues, led by Senators Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi (APC Kaduna North) and Kabir Marafa (APC Zamfara Central) to sheathe their sword and withdraw the petition that had led to the prosecution of Senate leadership.

The Saraki-led session had also reminded the Senate that a committee led by his predecessor, David Mark was set up to reunite the members.

But the Benue-born politician denied ever being a member of any such committee, adding that he had no idea who the members of the committee were as he was just doing his work.

Senator Melaye from Kogi state also insisted that Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) be brought before the senators, thoroughly grilled and humiliated because of the allegations he has charged the leadership of the Senate with.

The outspoken lawmaker therefore called on his colleagues to fight the presidency and also reportedly issued a lot of threats during the rowdy session and when Senator Tinubu was asked to speak, she said said the Senate should not be reduced to a kindergarten where Senators could just issue childish threats.

Reports say after she had appealed to senators to close ranks and seek reconciliation, Melaye got really mad and started calling the former governor’s wife names.

He threatened: “I will beat you up on this floor and nothing will happen.”

This reaction by Melaye was said to have triggered more commotion on the floor of the house as some senators were said to have rallied around her to protect her while Saraki reportedly continued nodding in acknowledgment while the Kogi senator continued calling the woman names.

Sahara Reporters sources informed that Senator Aliyu Wamakko from Sokoto had hosted series of meetings in an alleged plot to impeach the president in a couple of days.

Some senators were also reported to have threatened those behind the current forgery trial just as Senator Melaye threatened to kill anybody who testifies against the leadership in court.

Meanwhile, reports emerged a few hours after the rowdy session that the AGF was spotted at the complex of the National Assembly.

NAIJ.com sources informed that details of the meeting were unknown but feelers have it that the meeting may not be unconnected to the impasse between the presidency and the Nigerian Senate.

You Must Write An Apology Letter Before We Re-open Your Schools- Oyo State Govt Tells Students & Teachers Of 17 Closed Schools

Oyo State government says 17 schools in the state that were shut down last month after they staged a protest, will only be re-opened when the students, management and principals of the affected schools tender an apology to the state government.

In a statement released by the Oyo state communication team yesterday July 11th, the state government insisted that an apology from the schools that partook in a violent protest on June 6th, must be tendered before their schools can be re-opened.

The Deputy Governor of the state, Moses Alake Adeyemo, said this at a press briefing, in Ibadan the state capital yesterday.

“The 17 schools, whose students partook in the violent disturbances and wanton destruction of public property would remain shut until their principals, management and students showed penitence in form of letters of apology and undertaking as the case may be” the statement in part reads.

Some public secondary school students in the state had embarked on a protest following alleged plans by the state government to privatize public schools. The protesting students and teachers alleged that such moves would only make the state government increase school fees and also lay off some teachers.

The state government immediately denied the claims, saying the plan is to get private bodies that will manage the schools and see to the proper running of the school.

Lagos APC Chair Begs Nigerians To Exercise More Patience With Buhari

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos State has assured the citizenry that President Muhammadu Buhari will deliver the dividends of democracy.

The Lagos APC Chairman, Otunba Henry Oladele Ajomale, who gave the assurance yesterday while speaking on the state of the nation, said APC had commenced the implementation of its programmes to alleviate the economic doldrums created by past Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) administration in the country.

Ajomale, who hailed Nigerians for their patience, perseverance and belief in the Buhari administration, said it was not easy to rebuild what was destroyed over the years, in one year.

The diplomat-turned politician, therefore, appealed to Nigerians to still exercise patience with Buhari, saying things would soon start to take shape.

He said: “I strongly believe that President Muhammadu Buhari will perform to expectation by bringing Nigeria out of its present situation. As a disciplinarian, he has taken the right step in the right direction by first retrieving our stolen valuables.

“I appeal to my fellow Nigerians to be patient and endure while lasting solutions are being applied by the government. As it is now, things have started improving”, he stated.
